Ghana, The Gold Coast of Africa

All-inclusive Package will include: Flights, trip insurance for medical evacuation and cancellation due to illness, all accommodations, in-country travel (including flights if needed), excursions, food, and welcome and farewell celebrations.

Akwaaba! Welcome to Ghana! The land of the Ashanti. The land of gold. The land of our royal ancestors, where Kings and Queens were revered in the past and remain present today.

The country that first shook off the shackles of colonialism and led the way for all of Africa to fight for sovereignty. The land of pride and of Pan-Africanism that became the promised land where Kwame Nkrumah welcomed W. E. B. Du Bois and spurred our diaspora to return home to Africa!

Join us as we enjoy the luxury, bustle, and vibrant nightlife of the capital city Accra, and laze on the beaches of the beautiful West African coastline. Come with us to see the abundant fauna and flora of Bunso Eco Park and Aburi Botanical Gardens, but watch out for the baboons and monkeys! Work up the bravery to master the canopy walk at Kakum National Park, 27 meters above the forest floor over trees that are over 300 years old! Prepare yourself to experience the Cape Coast Castle Dungeon where our ancestors were taken away, and imagine their journey as you peer through the Door of No Return. Complete the circle of your ancestors as you receive your African Ancestry DNA Reveal, come through the Door of Return back home to Africa, and receive your Ghanaian name in the renaming ceremony.

Learn how to cook the Ghanaian Jollof that sparks diasporan wars, or go shopping, ATV riding or see monkeys and Zebras at the Shai Hills Game Reserve. Enjoy your first American-Ghanaian Thanksgiving Feast on the continent as you overlook the beautiful lights of Accra. Head to Kumasi – the cultural capital of Ghana and visit the Manhyia Palace – the seat of the Asantahene, the King of the Ashanti Kingdom, and visit the Ashanti History museum.

Learn all you need to know about Kente cloth and Gold and our royal history before your final day’s adventure with jet skis, boats and horseback riding at Aqua Safari Resort on a tributary of the Volta river. Dance the night away at your farewell party before coming back home with a lifetime of memories.
